How to measure

Use a soft measuring tape. Measure over a thin layer of clothing, stand relaxed and keep the tape level. Record measurements in inches or centimeters.

Measure your body

1. Chest / Bust: Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, under the arms and across the shoulder blades. Keep the tape snug but not tight.
2. Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your natural waistline (usually above the belly button).
3. Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks.
4. Shoulder width: Measure across the back from the outer edge of one shoulder to the other (seam to seam on a well-fitting shirt).
5. Sleeve length: For jacket sizing, measure from the center back of the neck (base) across the top of the shoulder and down to the wrist bone. Some listings use shoulder-seam to wrist instead—check the product's measurement method.
6. Jacket length: Measure from the high point of shoulder (where the neckline meets the shoulder) down to the hem.

Measure an existing jacket (for listing or comparing)

1. Chest (laid flat): Zip the jacket closed and lay it flat. Measure straight across 1 cm (½ in) below the armholes from seam to seam, then double that number for the full chest circumference.
2. Shoulder width: Measure straight across the back from shoulder seam to shoulder seam.
3. Sleeve length: Measure from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff. If using center-back sleeve length, measure from center back base of neck to wrist.
4. Back / Overall length: Measure from the high point shoulder (HPS) to the bottom hem.
5. Hem width: Measure across the bottom hem and double the number.
