How to measure

Measure your body (to choose the right size)

1. Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your torso (natural waist). Keep the tape comfortably snug and level.
2. Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks, standing with feet together. Keep the tape parallel to the floor.
3. Inseam: Measure from the crotch seam to the desired hem on the inside of your leg. For best accuracy, measure a pair of trousers that fit you well.
4. Front rise: Measure from the crotch seam up to the top of the front waistband.
5. Thigh: Measure across the leg 2–3 cm (about 1") below the crotch seam and double the flat measurement for the full circumference.
6. Hem opening: Measure straight across the bottom hem and double the flat measurement for the full circumference.
7. Outseam: Measure from the top of the waistband to the bottom hem along the outside leg.

Measure the garment (if you have the pants to compare)

1. Lay the pants flat on a smooth surface, fasten any buttons or zippers and smooth out wrinkles.
2. Measure flat and then multiply by two for circumference measurements (waist, hips, thigh, hem).
3. Waist: measure across the waistband and multiply by 2. If the waistband is elastic, note both relaxed and stretched measurements.
4. Hips: measure across the garment approximately 20 cm (8") below the waistband and multiply by 2.
5. Inseam: measure from crotch seam to hem on the inside leg.
6. Front/back rise: measure from crotch seam to top of front/back waistband.

Tips: use a flexible fabric tape, measure in inches and centimetres if possible, measure twice for consistency, and allow for the garment’s intended ease — wide-leg styles typically have extra room through hip and thigh.
