How to measure

Tools: flexible measuring tape, a flat surface and (optional) a pair of trousers you already own that fit well.

1. Waist: Lay the pants flat and fasten the waistband. Measure straight across the top edge from one side to the other, then double that number to get the full waist circumference.
2. Hips: Measure across the fullest part of the seat (about 3–4" / 8–10 cm below the waistband) and double the measurement.
3. Inseam: Measure from the crotch seam down the inside leg to the bottom of the hem.
4. Outseam / Length: Measure from the very top of the waistband to the hem along the outside leg.
5. Front rise: Measure from the crotch seam up to the top of the front waistband.
6. Back rise: Measure from the crotch seam up to the top of the back waistband.
7. Thigh: Measure across the leg 1" (2.5 cm) below the crotch seam and double the number.
8. Hem width: Measure straight across the bottom hem.

Tip: To compare to a pair you own, measure the same points on that pair while they are laid flat. For stretch fabrics, measure gently without stretching for the most accurate fit.
