- Lay the sweater flat on a table. Smooth out wrinkles without stretching.
- Use a soft tape measure. Record each point to the nearest 0.5 cm or 1/4 in.
- Chest/Bust Width: Measure straight across, 2.5 cm/1 in below the armhole. Double for circumference.
- Shoulder Width: Seam to seam straight across the back. For drop-shoulder styles, measure the widest point across the shoulder area.
- Sleeve Length: From shoulder seam to end of cuff. For drop-shoulder, measure from where the shoulder naturally sits to the cuff along the outer sleeve.
- Back Length: From the highest point of shoulder (HPS) at the collar seam to hem.
- Hem Width: Straight across the bottom hem. Double for circumference.
- Cuff Width: Straight across the cuff with the sleeve laid flat.
- Collar/Neck Opening (optional): Across the neck opening seam to seam.
