Measuring the garment (lay flat)
- Bust (flat): Lay the dress flat and smooth out wrinkles. Measure straight across from one underarm seam to the other. Double that number to get the full bust circumference (e.g. 18 cm flat = 36 cm around).
- Waist (flat): Measure across the narrowest part of the dress (or across the tie/elastic if present). Double for full waist circumference.
- Hips (flat): Measure across the skirt at the fullest point (usually 7–10 cm / 3–4" below the waist). Double for circumference.
- Length: Measure from the highest point of the shoulder (next to the neck) straight down to the hem for the total dress length.
- Shoulder width: Measure across the back from one shoulder seam to the other.
- Sleeve length: From the shoulder seam to the sleeve hem (for short sleeves measure from seam to hem).
- Hem width: Measure the bottom hem from side seam to side seam; double for full hem circumference.
Measuring your body
- Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your bust with the tape level and snug but not tight.
- Waist: Measure at your natural waist (the narrowest point) while breathing normally.
- Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks.
- Shoulder: Measure across the back from shoulder bone to shoulder bone for reference.
- Desired length: Measure from the top of your shoulder (base of neck) to where you want the hem to fall.
How to use these numbers: compare your body measurements with the garment’s flat measurements doubled. For a relaxed boho fit allow 1–3 cm (0.5–1") ease; size up if you prefer extra room.
