How to measure
Use a flexible tape measure and a flat surface. Lay the pants flat, smooth but do not stretch the fabric (except where noted for the smocked waistband).
- Waist (flat → circumference): Measure straight across the top edge of the waistband from left to right. Multiply that number by 2 to get the waist circumference. For smocked waists, record both the relaxed (unstretched) and fully stretched measurements so you can present a range.
- Hip: Measure across the fullest part of the hips (usually about 7–9 cm / 3–4 in below the crotch seam). Multiply by 2 for the hip circumference.
- Front rise: Measure from the top center of the front waistband down to the crotch seam.
- Inseam: Measure from the crotch seam down the inside leg to the hem.
