How to measure
Measure your body
- Waist (where the shorts sit): Wrap a flexible tape measure around your body at the spot where you want the shorts to sit—mid‑rise is usually about 2–3" (5–7 cm) below your natural waist. Keep the tape parallel to the floor and snug but not tight.
- Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks, keeping the tape parallel to the floor.
- Thigh: Measure around the fullest part of one thigh, about 1" (2–3 cm) below the crotch seam.
- Inseam: Measure from the crotch seam down the inside leg to where you want the hem to fall. For best accuracy, measure a pair of shorts you already own the way you like them.
- Front rise: Measure from the crotch seam vertically up to the top of the waistband to check where the shorts will sit on your torso.
Tip: Wear light undergarments, stand relaxed (don’t suck in), and compare these numbers to the garment measurements if available. If you’re between sizes, choose based on hip measurement and desired fit—size up for a roomier look.
