Size, materials, model details, care guide and styling tips to help you choose, care for and wear "rt" with confidence.
How to measure
Use a soft tape measure. Measure yourself wearing thin clothing or underwear, stand relaxed, breathe normally. Record measurements in centimetres (cm) and inches (in). If you are measuring a garment, lay it flat on a smooth surface and measure straight across—double where noted.
Body measurements (for fit)
- Chest / Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest/bust, keeping tape parallel to the floor.
- Waist: Measure around the narrowest point of your waist (natural waistline).
- Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips (about 20–25 cm / 8–10 in below waist for most people).
- Shoulder width: Measure from shoulder seam to shoulder seam across the back (or from bone to bone across the top).
- Sleeve length: From the shoulder seam to the wrist bone with the arm slightly bent.
- Rise (pants): From crotch seam to top of waistband at front.
- Inseam (pants): From crotch seam to the bottom hem along the inside leg.
- Foot length (shoes): Stand with heel against a wall, mark the longest toe and measure heel-to-toe on paper.
- Ring size: Wrap a strip of paper or string around the base of your finger, mark where it overlaps, measure the length and compare to a ring size chart.
Garment flat measurements (how we list sizes)
- Chest (flat): Measure across the garment from armpit seam to armpit seam — double this number for the full circumference.
- Waist (flat): Measure across the narrowest point of the garment — double for circumference.
- Hip (flat): Measure across the garment at the fullest seat — double for circumference.
- Length: From highest point of shoulder (HPS) to hem for tops/dresses; from waistband to hem for skirts/pants.
- Sleeve length: From shoulder seam to cuff.
- Strap drop (bags): Measure from top edge of bag to top of strap when held naturally.
Sizing tips
- Compare your body measurements to the garment flat measurements. If a garment measurement equals your body measurement, consider your preferred ease: close-fitting (+0–2 cm / 0–¾ in), regular (+4–8 cm / 1½–3 in), or relaxed (+10 cm / 4 in+).
- Allow a manufacturing tolerance of ±1–2 cm / ±⅜–¾ in.
- If you are between sizes: for fitted styles size down, for oversized or structured styles size up.
- One-inch = 2.54 cm.
Materials
Check the sewn label, product tag or online composition for exact materials. Below is a quick-reference to common components and typical care notes.
- Cotton
- Soft, breathable, natural fiber. Typical care: machine wash warm or cold, tumble dry low or line dry. May shrink slightly on first wash.
- Linen
- Breathable and cool with natural texture; wrinkles easily. Typical care: gentle wash or hand wash, reshape and hang to dry.
- Silk
- Delicate sheen, often dry-clean or gentle hand wash only. Use silk-safe detergent and low-temperature iron if needed.
- Wool
- Warm and insulating; may felt or shrink. Hand wash cold with wool detergent or dry clean. Dry flat and reshape.
- Polyester / Nylon
- Durable synthetics, quick-drying and wrinkle-resistant. Machine wash warm; avoid high heat in dryer to prevent damage.
- Viscose / Rayon
- Soft and drapey but can lose shape; often requires gentle hand wash or dry cleaning and careful drying flat.
- Elastane / Lycra / Spandex
- Added in small percentages (1–10%) to give stretch. Machine wash low temperature; avoid fabric softeners that reduce elasticity.
- Leather & Suede
- Natural leather: condition periodically and keep dry; professional cleaning recommended. Suede: avoid water and use specialist suede care.
- Fill (down, synthetic)
- Down: dry-clean or machine wash on gentle with tumble dry low and tennis balls to restore loft. Synthetic fill: usually machine washable, check label.
- Hardware (zippers, buckles)
- Metal/plated hardware can tarnish with chemicals or salt; wipe clean and avoid prolonged moisture exposure.
How to report materials on the product page: Main: [e.g. 95% Cotton, 5% Elastane]. Lining: [e.g. 100% Polyester]. Trim/Hardware: [e.g. Brass zipper, nickel-free plating]. If composition is unknown, indicate "Composition: see label" and provide label image if possible.
About the model & fit
To help customers visualize fit, include concise model information and a fit note.
- Example model info (female sample): Height 178 cm / 5'10" — Bust 82 cm / 32" — Waist 61 cm / 24" — Hips 89 cm / 35" — Wearing size S.

- Fit note: The product runs true to size with a [close / regular / relaxed] fit. For a more oversized look, consider sizing up; for a more tailored silhouette, choose your usual size.
Tip: If you provide photography, include one straight-on and one full-length shot so customers can judge overall length and proportion.
Care guide — keep it lovely longer
- Always check the care label first. Labels override general advice.
- Washing: Use a mild detergent. Wash similar colors together. Turn printed or embellished items inside out. Use a garment bag for delicates.
- Temperature: Cold or warm water is safest for most fabrics; avoid hot water unless label permits.
- Drying: Air-dry flat for knits and wool; hang dry shirts and dresses. Use tumble dry low for robust items if label allows.
- Ironing / steaming: Steam to remove wrinkles where possible. Iron on the reverse side at the temperature appropriate for the fabric (low for synthetics, medium for cotton, low for silk/wool with protective cloth).
- Stains: Treat promptly. Blot (don’t rub) liquids, use spot cleaner recommended for the fabric type, test on an inside seam first.
- Storage: Fold heavy knits; hang structured coats and dresses on wide hangers. Store leather in a breathable bag and avoid plastic. Keep away from direct sunlight to prevent fading.
- Hardware care: Avoid chlorinated water, perfumes and lotions coming into prolonged contact with metal details; wipe hardware dry after exposure to moisture.
- Repairs & maintenance: Replace buttons and fix small tears promptly to prevent worsening. For leather or suede, seek professional maintenance for deep stains or damage.
Quick fixes: Remove pills with a fabric shaver, refresh fabrics by steaming to remove minor wrinkles and odors, re-proportion hems by pressing gently with steam.
