How to measure

Use these steps to measure a finished T‑shirt laid flat, and how to measure your body if you prefer sizing by fit.

1. Chest (garment): Lay the T‑shirt flat and smooth out wrinkles. Measure straight across the front, 1" (2.5 cm) below the armholes from seam to seam. Double that number to get the full chest circumference. (Example: 20" across = 40" chest.)
2. Body length (HPS to hem): Measure from the highest point of the shoulder (next to the collar) straight down to the bottom hem.
3. Shoulder width: Measure across the back from one shoulder seam to the other shoulder seam.
4. Sleeve length: For short-sleeve tees measure from the shoulder seam to the sleeve hem. For raglan or drop-shoulder styles you can measure from the center back neck along the shoulder to the sleeve hem if that’s easier.
5. Hem width: Measure across the bottom hem and double for total hem circumference.

Tools: flexible tape measure, ruler and a flat surface. Tip: compare these garment measurements to a similar T‑shirt you already own for the most accurate fit.

Measuring your body: measure around the fullest part of your chest with the tape snug but not tight; keep the tape level. If you like a relaxed fit, add 2–4" (5–10 cm) of ease to your body measurement. For a fitted look, choose a garment measurement close to your body measurement plus 0–1" (0–2.5 cm).
