How to measure — Men's Striped Button-Down Shirt

For accurate garment measurements, lay the shirt flat on a smooth surface, buttoned and smaped out (no wrinkles). Measure in inches or centimeters; multiply inches by 2.54 to get cm.

Garment measurements (what we measure and how)

1. Chest (pit to pit): Measure straight across the front, 1" (2–3 cm) below the armhole seam from one underarm seam to the other. Double that number to get the chest circumference. (Example: 20" flat = 40" chest.)
2. Shoulder width: Measure across the back from one shoulder seam to the other, following the seam line.
3. Sleeve length: (Common standard) Measure from the center back of the neck (where the collar meets the shirt) across the shoulder to the end of the cuff. Some brands use shoulder-seam-to-cuff — we list which method on the size chart when applicable.
4. Collar (neck band): With collar buttoned, measure the inside circumference of the collar band with a soft tape or measure the collar flat across and double that measurement for an approximate collar circumference.
5. Shirt length: Measure from the highest point of the shoulder (next to the collar seam) straight down to the bottom hem.
6. Hem width: Measure straight across the bottom hem and double that to get the full hem circumference.
7. Cuff: Measure the cuff flat across, then double to get cuff circumference. If the cuff has adjustable buttons, note the range.

Tolerance: garment measurements typically vary by ±0.5–1" (1–2.5 cm) depending on fabric and finish.

How to measure your body (to pick the right size)

• Chest: Measure around the fullest part of the chest with arms relaxed at your sides. Keep the tape parallel to the floor.
• Neck: Measure around the base of your neck where the collar sits; allow one finger for comfort if you prefer a little extra room.
• Sleeve: Measure from the center back of your neck, across the top of your shoulder, down to your wrist (slightly bent) for the correct sleeve length.
• Fit tip: Compare your body measurements to the garment measurements. For a comfortable fit allow ~1–2" (2.5–5 cm) of ease at the chest for a slim/regular look, and 3–4" (7.5–10 cm) for a relaxed/oversized fit.
