How to measure

Tools: flexible tape measure, flat surface, a helper if available. Take each measurement twice for accuracy.

Measuring the shirt (laid flat)

1. Prepare: Button the shirt, lay it face up on a flat surface and smooth out wrinkles without stretching the fabric.
2. Chest (pit-to-pit): Measure straight across the front 1" (2–3 cm) below the armholes from seam to seam. Double this number to get the chest circumference (e.g., 20" pit-to-pit = 40" chest).
3. Shoulder width: Measure across the back from the outside of one shoulder seam to the outside of the other shoulder seam.
4. Sleeve length (short sleeve): Measure from the shoulder seam to the end of the sleeve hem.
5. Shirt length: Measure from the highest point of the shoulder (where the shoulder seam meets the collar) straight down to the bottom hem at the center front.
6. Hem width: Measure across the bottom hem from side seam to side seam and double to get the hem circumference.
7. Neck (inside collar): With collar buttoned, measure inside collar from seam to seam and double to estimate neck circumference.

Measuring your body (for best fit)

1. Chest: Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, under your armpits and across the shoulder blades. Keep the tape level and relaxed.
2. Waist: Measure around the natural waistline (narrowest point between ribs and hips).
3. Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips/seat.
4. Sleeve (if comparing long-sleeve fits): From the center back of your neck, measure across the shoulder to the wrist bone with a slightly bent elbow.
5. Neck: Measure around the base of your neck where a collar would sit.

How to choose your size: Compare your body chest measurement to the garment chest (the doubled pit-to-pit). Add ease depending on desired fit:

• Fitted: about 0–2" (0–5 cm) extra
• Regular: about 2–4" (5–10 cm) extra
• Relaxed/oversized: 4" (10 cm) or more
