How to measure
Use a soft measuring tape. Measure over a well-fitting shirt or directly on the body while standing relaxed. Record values in inches or centimeters (1 in = 2.54 cm).
- Chest (circumference) — Measure around the fullest part of the chest, under the arms. If measuring a shirt laid flat, measure across from armpit seam to armpit seam and double that number (flat measurement × 2 = circumference).
- Shoulder width — Measure across the back from one shoulder seam to the other, straight line.
- Neck — Measure around the base of the neck where the collar would sit.
- Shirt length — From the highest point of the shoulder (next to the collar) straight down to the hem.
- Sleeve length (short sleeve) — From the shoulder seam to the end of the sleeve.
