How to measure

Measure your body (to choose the right size)

1. Waist: Measure around your natural waistline (usually just above the belly button). Keep the tape snug but not tight; stand relaxed and breathe normally.
2. Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips/seat—stand with feet together and tape parallel to the floor.
3. Thigh: Measure around the fullest part of one thigh (just below the crotch).
4. Inseam (short length): Measure from the crotch seam down to where you want the shorts to end. For convenience, measure an existing pair of shorts that fit you well from crotch seam to hem.
5. Rise: Measure from the crotch seam up to the top of the front waistband to determine how high the shorts will sit.
6. Outseam / Overall length: Measure from the top of the waistband to the hem along the side seam to confirm final length on the leg.

Measure an existing pair (most accurate)

1. Lay the shorts flat on a smooth surface and smooth out wrinkles without stretching the fabric.
2. Waist (flat): Measure straight across the top waist from left to right; double that measurement to get full circumference. For elastic drawstrings, note both the relaxed and fully stretched flat waist measurements.
3. Hips (flat): Measure across the widest seat area and double that number for circumference.
4. Thigh (flat): Measure across the leg 1" (2–3 cm) below the crotch seam and double it for full thigh circumference.
5. Inseam: Measure from the crotch seam to the bottom hem.
6. Outseam / Length: Measure from the top of waistband to hem along the side.

Fit tip: For a comfortable, relaxed fit allow about 1–3 inches (2.5–8 cm) of ease at the waist/hip depending on how roomy you want the shorts to feel. If you are between sizes, choose the larger size for a relaxed fit or your usual size for a closer fit.
