Men's Letter Elastic Waist Active Shorts — How to measure

Measure your body

Use a soft tape measure. Take measurements while standing relaxed, wearing light clothing. Record in inches or centimeters.

• Waist: Measure around your natural waistline (where the top of these shorts will sit). Keep the tape snug but not tight.
• Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips/buttocks with feet together.
• Thigh: Measure around the fullest part of the thigh, just below the crotch.
• Inseam: Measure from the crotch seam down the inside leg to where you want the shorts to end.
• Outseam / Total length: Measure from the top of the waistband to the bottom of the hem.
• Rise: Measure from the crotch seam straight up to the top of the front waistband (front rise).

Measure the shorts (laid flat)

Lay the shorts on a flat surface and smooth wrinkles (do not stretch).

• Waist (unstretched): Measure straight across the top waistband from left to right and multiply by 2 to get the circumference. For elastic waistbands also measure the stretched width to know the fit range.
• Inseam: Measure the inner seam from the crotch seam to the hem.
• Outseam: Measure from the top edge of the waistband down the outer seam to the hem.
• Thigh: Measure across the leg at the fullest point and multiply by 2.
• Leg opening: Measure across the hem and multiply by 2.
• Allow a tolerance of about 0.5–1" (1–2 cm) for hand measurements.
