How to measure

To find the best fit, measure either the garment laid flat or your body. Use a flexible tape measure and record both inches and centimeters when possible.

1. Waist (flat): Lay the shorts flat and smooth them. Measure straight across the top edge from one side to the other, then double that number to get the waist circumference. For elastic waistbands, also record the fully stretched measurement.
2. Outseam / Total length: Measure from the top of the waistband down the side seam to the bottom hem.
3. Inseam: Measure from the crotch seam (where the front and back seams meet) straight down the inside leg to the bottom hem.
4. Front rise: Measure from the crotch seam up to the top of the front waistband.
5. Back rise: Measure from the crotch seam up to the top of the back waistband.
6. Thigh: With the shorts flat, measure straight across the leg about 1" (2.5 cm) below the crotch seam, then double that number for the full thigh circumference.
7. Leg opening / Hem width: Measure straight across the bottom hem of one leg and double it to get the leg opening circumference.

Tips: If measuring your body, measure the natural waistline or where you intend to wear the shorts. Allow 1–2" (2.5–5 cm) ease for comfort or more if you prefer a relaxed fit. Example: a flat waist of 16" = 32" circumference.

Materials & features

Active shorts are designed from performance fabrics that balance breathability, stretch and quick drying. Common constructions include:

• Shell (typical): 85–95% polyester + 5–15% elastane (spandex) — lightweight, quick-dry, moisture-wicking and four-way stretch for mobility.
• Alternative shell: Nylon + elastane blends — softer hand with high abrasion resistance.
• Liner: Mesh or brief liner (often 100% polyester) for ventilation and chafe reduction.
• Waist & drawcord: Elastic waistband with internal or external drawstring for adjustable fit; braided cord with aglets is common.
• Pockets & hardware: Zipped or welt pockets with durable closures; reinforced seams at stress points.
• Finishes: Moisture-wicking and anti-odor treatments; optional PFC-free DWR for light water resistance.
• Sustainable options: Recycled polyester (rPET) retains performance while reducing environmental impact.

Note: Polyester and nylon dry quickly and keep color; elastane adds stretch and recovery. Avoid fabric softener to preserve wicking and DWR properties.

• Model height: 6'1" (185 cm)
• Model waist: 32" (81 cm)
• Wearing size: M
• Shown shorts inseam: 7" (measured from crotch to hem) — falls above the knee for an athletic silhouette
• Fit: True to size with an athletic/regular cut. For a roomier, relaxed feel size up; for a sleeker running fit, choose your usual size or size down if between sizes.

Fit tip: Check garment measurements (waist relaxed/stretched, inseam, thigh) against your body measurements for the best result.

Care guide (to keep it lovely longer)

• Machine wash cold with like colors; use a gentle cycle.
• Use mild detergent; avoid bleach and fabric softeners (they reduce moisture-wicking and water-repellent performance).
• Fasten zippers and turn the shorts inside out to protect hardware, trims and prints.
• Tumble dry low or air dry—high heat damages elastane and trims. Hanging helps retain shape and finishes.
• If the shorts have DWR, refresh with a PFC-free DWR spray or follow tumble-dry reactivation instructions when water no longer beads.
• Pre-treat stains before washing and rinse out chlorine or saltwater promptly after use to preserve elasticity and color.
• Avoid ironing directly on logos, trims or elastic; use low heat if ironing is necessary and iron inside out.
• Store folded in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading and degradation of elastic fibers.
