How to measure this jacket

Use the instructions below to measure the jacket laid flat (garment measurements) and to measure your body so you can pick the best size and fit.

Garment (laid-flat) measurements — step by step

1. Chest / Bust — Button the jacket. Lay it flat on a smooth surface. Measure straight across the front about 1" (2.5 cm) below the armholes from side seam to side seam. Multiply that number by 2 to get the full chest circumference.
2. Shoulder width — Measure across the back from shoulder seam to shoulder seam. For drop-shoulder styles where the sleeve seam sits lower, measure across the back at the highest visible shoulder point or from sleeve-seam junction to sleeve-seam junction for a consistent garment measurement.
3. Sleeve length — Two common methods:

   • From center back neck to cuff: measure from the center back at the base of the collar across the shoulder and down the sleeve to the cuff (this gives overall sleeve length).
4. Jacket length — Measure from the highest point of the shoulder/center back neck down to the bottom hem.
5. Hem width — Measure across the bottom hem from side seam to side seam and multiply by 2 for the full hem circumference.
6. Cuff opening — Measure the cuff from edge to edge and multiply by 2.
7. Upper arm / bicep — Measure across the sleeve about 1" (2.5 cm) below the armhole seam and multiply by 2 for the full bicep circumference.

Body measurement & fit guidance

Measure your body with a soft tape measure: chest (around the fullest part), waist, and hips. Compare your body measurements to the garment measurements and allow ease:

• For a fitted look: allow about 2–4 cm (0.8–1.5") of ease.
• For a relaxed/typical fit: allow 4–8 cm (1.5–3") of ease.
• For an oversized look: allow 10 cm (4") or more of ease.

Tip: Measure twice, record in both cm and inches, and always measure garments lying flat without stretching them.
