How to Measure

Measuring the garment (laid flat)

For accurate product listings, measure the dress while it is lying flat on a smooth surface. Record the flat measurement, then double where noted to get the full circumference.

• Bust / Chest: Smooth the dress. Measure straight across the front 1" (2.5 cm) below the armhole seam from side to side. Double this number for the full bust circumference.

• Shoulder width: Measure from shoulder seam to shoulder seam across the back.
• Sleeve length: For short sleeves, measure from the shoulder seam to the sleeve hem.
• Armhole (sleeve opening): Measure straight across the armhole opening and double to get the circumference.
• Pocket placement & depth: Measure from the shoulder or waist down to the top of the pocket, then measure pocket width and pocket depth to show how much it holds.

Tip: For stretchy fabrics, note both the relaxed flat measurement and the measurement when gently stretched so customers understand fit. Always state whether measurements are "laid flat" (garment) or "body" measurements.

Measuring yourself (to find the best size)

• Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest while wearing a bra you would normally wear with the dress. Keep the tape level.
• Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your torso (natural waist).
• Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips/seat.
• Length preference: If you want the dress to hit a specific spot (knee, mid-thigh, midi), compare your shoulder-to-knee or shoulder-to-mid-thigh measurement to the dress length.
