How to measure
Measure the finished garment laid flat on a firm surface. Smooth out wrinkles but do not stretch. Record each flat measurement and, where noted, multiply by 2 to get the circumference.
- Chest / Bust (pit-to-pit): Button the jacket and lay flat. Measure straight across the front 1" (2.5 cm) below the armhole from one seam to the other. Double this number to get the chest circumference.
- Shoulder width: Measure from shoulder seam to shoulder seam across the back at the widest point of the yoke.
- Sleeve length: Measure from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff. For a full-arm measure you can also measure from the centre back of the neck (base) down the shoulder and along the sleeve to the cuff.
