How to measure

To choose the best size, measure either your body or a jacket that already fits you well. For garment measurements, lay the jacket flat, fasten the snaps, smooth out wrinkles and use a soft tape. Multiply flat measurements that run side-to-side by 2 to get the full circumference. (1 in = 2.54 cm)

1. Chest (circumference) — Lay jacket flat and measure straight across the front about 1" (2.5 cm) below the armhole from seam to seam. Multiply that number by 2. For body measurement, wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest under the arms, keeping it level and snug but not tight.
2. Shoulder width — Measure across the back from shoulder seam to shoulder seam (point-to-point).
3. Sleeve length — Garment method: measure from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff along the outer sleeve. Body method: measure from the center back of the neck, over the shoulder, and down to the wrist.
4. Back/Body length — Measure from the base of the collar at center back down to the hem.
5. Hem width — Measure across the bottom hem from side to side and multiply by 2 for circumference.
6. Collar/neck — Measure the inside of the collar seam for garment measurement; for body, wrap the tape around the base of the neck.

Tip: Compare these measurements to a jacket you already own that fits the way you like. Allow 1–3" (2.5–7.5 cm) of ease for comfortable layering depending on how bulky your underlayers will be.
