How to measure

Below are clear measuring instructions you can use for product listings and size comparisons. For the most accurate fit measure a dress you already own that fits how you like and compare the flat measurements.

Garment (flat) measurements — how we measure

• Bust (Chest) — Lay the dress flat. Measure straight across from one underarm seam to the other, then multiply by 2 to get the full circumference.
• Waist — Measure across the narrowest part of the garment (usually the natural waistline), then multiply by 2.
• Hips — Measure across the widest part of the lower dress (about 20–25 cm / 8–10" below the waist or at the fullest point), then multiply by 2.
• Shoulder width — Measure from shoulder seam to shoulder seam across the back.
• Sleeve length — From the shoulder seam down to the sleeve hem. For short sleeves this is typically a short seam-to-hem measurement.
• Dress length — From the highest point of the shoulder (near the neck seam) straight down to the hem.
• Hem width — Measure across the bottom hem and multiply by 2 for the full circumference.

Body measurements — how to measure yourself

• Bust — Wrap a soft tape measure around the fullest part of your bust with the tape parallel to the floor. Breathe normally while measuring.
• Waist — Measure around the narrowest point of your natural waist (usually above the belly button).
• Hips — Measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks with feet together.

Notes on ease: Compare your body measurements to the garment flat measurements (doubled). For stretch fabrics allow less extra room; for non-stretch fabrics allow 5–12 cm (2–5") added ease at bust and hips depending on desired fit. 1 inch = 2.54 cm.

Materials
