How to measure

Measure the garment (laid flat)

• Chest / Pit-to-pit: Button the cardigan and lay it flat. Measure straight across from one underarm seam to the other about 1 cm below the armhole. Double that number to get the full chest circumference. Example: 55 cm flat = 110 cm / 21.7 in = 43.3 in circumference.
• Center back length: Measure from the center back neckline seam (where the collar meets the neck) straight down to the hem.
• Sleeve length (dropped shoulder): Locate the shoulder seam where the sleeve meets the body (for dropped shoulders this seam sits lower on the arm). Measure from that seam down to the end of the cuff. For an overall sleeve length you can also measure from the center back neck to the cuff.
• Shoulder width: Measure across from one shoulder seam to the other. Note: for dropped-shoulder styles this seam is set lower than a traditional shoulder seam, so the measurement will reflect the relaxed fit.
• Bicep / sleeve width: Measure across the sleeve about 4 cm (1.5 in) below the armhole; double the flat measurement for full circumference.
• Hem width: Measure across the bottom hem and double the flat measurement for full hem circumference.
• Cuff width: Measure flat across the cuff and double for circumference.

Measure your body

• Bust / Chest: Measure around the fullest part of your bust/chest while standing normally.
• Shoulder: Measure across the back from the edge of one shoulder to the other.
• Arm length: Measure from the top of your shoulder (where you want the sleeve to start) down to the wrist, with a slight bend at the elbow.
• Torso length: Measure from the base of your neck (center back) down to where you want the cardigan hem to sit.

How to choose your size

Compare your body measurements to the garment measurements. The difference is the positive ease (how much room you have). For this dropped-shoulder cardigan we recommend:

• Fitted: 0–4 cm / 0–1.5 in positive ease at the bust
• True-to-size / relaxed: 6–10 cm / 2.5–4 in positive ease
• Oversized: 10–20 cm / 4–8 in positive ease

If you plan to layer chunky sweaters or want an exaggerated silhouette, choose the larger option.

Soft with a fluid drape. Can stretch or lose shape if wet. Care: hand wash cold, avoid wringing, and dry flat.

Blends

Blended yarns combine benefits (softness, durability, warmth). When caring for blends, follow the recommendation for the most delicate fiber in the mix.

If you're between sizes and plan to layer over thicker knits, size up; if you prefer a neater silhouette, take your usual size or size down if you want it fitted.

Care guide — keep it lovely longer

• Read the label first: Always follow the care symbols on the garment tag — when in doubt, treat knitwear gently.
• Pre‑care: Close buttons, turn the cardigan inside out and fasten any closures before washing to protect contrast trims and buttons.

• Storage: Fold and store in a cool, dry place. Use cedar blocks or lavender sachets to deter moths. Avoid long-term hanging for heavy knits.

• Stain care: Spot clean stains promptly with a mild detergent; for persistent stains follow professional cleaning recommendations.
