Button Up Long Sleeve Corduroy Jacket

How to measure

Below are simple, reliable ways to measure the jacket and your body so you can choose the best fit.

Measuring the garment (lay flat)

  1. Prepare: Button the jacket, lay it flat on a smooth surface and smooth out wrinkles without stretching the fabric.
  2. Chest / Bust: Measure straight across the front 1 inch (2.5 cm) below the armhole from seam to seam. Double that number to get the full circumference.
  3. Shoulder width: Measure across the back from shoulder seam to shoulder seam at the highest point.
  4. Sleeve length: Measure from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff along the outer edge of the sleeve.
  5. Back length (HPS to hem): Measure from the highest point of the shoulder at the base of the collar (HPS) straight down the back to the hem.
  6. Hem / Waist width: Measure across the bottom hem from side to side and double to get circumference.
  7. Cuff width: Measure the cuff opening flat and double for circumference.

Measuring your body

  1. Bust / Chest: Wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of your chest with arms relaxed; keep tape level.
  2. Shoulder width: Measure from the tip of one shoulder across the back to the tip of the other shoulder.
  3. Sleeve / Arm length: Measure from the top of shoulder (or from center back of neck along shoulder) down to the wrist where you want the cuff to sit.
  4. Natural waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your torso.
  5. Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips/seat.
  6. Fit tip: If you plan to layer sweaters or hoodies underneath, add 2–4 cm (approx. 1 inch) to your chest measurement to ensure comfortable movement.

Quick conversion: 1 in = 2.54 cm.

Materials

Typical construction and fabric notes for a corduroy jacket. Always check the product label for exact composition.

  • Outer fabric: Corduroy — usually 100% cotton or a cotton blend (cotton + polyester/elastane). Corduroy is a cut-pile fabric with ribs (“wales”) that give it texture and warmth. Wale count (fine to wide) changes the look and drape.
  • Lining: Often made from polyester, viscose, or a cotton blend for comfort and ease of wear. Some styles may be unlined for a lighter feel.
  • Trims: Buttons or snaps are commonly resin or metal; thread is polyester or cotton-wrapped polyester. Reinforcements at seams or pockets may use twill tape or serging.
  • Performance & feel: Medium-weight corduroy holds structure well, is breathable, and provides moderate insulation. Expect slight nap direction and soft surface texture.
  • Sustainability note: Some jackets use organic cotton or recycled fibers—see the product tag for eco credentials.

Model information

Reference model details so you can compare how the jacket fits in the photos.

  • Model height: 5'9" (175 cm)
  • Model measurements: Bust 32" / 81 cm • Waist 24" / 61 cm • Hips 34" / 86 cm
  • Wearing size in photos: Small (S)
  • Fit shown: Relaxed / slightly boxy. If you prefer a closer fit, consider sizing down; for bulky layering, size up.

Care guide (to keep it lovely longer)

Follow these practical tips to preserve the look and feel of your corduroy jacket.

  • Wash: Turn the jacket inside out. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle or hand wash. Use a mild detergent and wash with similar colors.
  • Avoid bleach: Do not use chlorine bleach or harsh stain removers that can damage the pile and color.
  • Dry: Reshape while damp and hang to air dry. If you must tumble dry, use low heat and remove promptly to avoid crushing the pile.
  • Ironing & steaming: Iron on the reverse side with low heat and a pressing cloth, or use a steamer to lift the nap. Do not press hard on the pile as this flattens the cords.
  • Brushing: Use a soft clothes brush or lint brush in the direction of the nap to restore texture and remove dust.
  • Spot care: Blot spills promptly with a damp cloth. For oil stains or set-in marks, consider professional cleaning.
  • Storage: Hang on a wide, shaped hanger to keep shoulder shape. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to avoid fading.
  • Professional care: For heavy soiling or structured jackets, dry cleaning is often the safest option—follow the care label directions.

Style tips

How to wear your corduroy jacket for versatile looks.

  • Casual everyday: Pair with a plain tee, relaxed blue jeans and white sneakers for effortless style.
  • Layered warmth: Wear over a lightweight hoodie or a thin knit sweater for a cosy, street-ready look.
  • Smart-casual: Button it over a crisp shirt and chinos; add leather boots or loafers to elevate the outfit.
  • Feminine mix: Layer the jacket over a midi dress with ankle boots for contrast between soft and structured textures.
  • Color pairing: Corduroy works well with earth tones (olive, rust, ochre), denim indigo, or neutrals like beige, black and navy.
  • Styling details: Roll the sleeves to show a shirt cuff, add a scarf for texture, or belt the jacket at the waist for a tailored silhouette.
  • Travel-friendly: Corduroy hides light wear and packs well—pair with comfortable trousers and layered tops for variable weather.
