Button Down Long Sleeve Shacket
How to measure
Use a flexible tape measure and record values in inches or centimeters (1 in = 2.54 cm). Two reliable approaches: measure the garment laid flat (preferred for online sizing) and measure your body.
Measuring the garment (recommended)
- Lay the shacket flat on a smooth surface, buttoned and smoothed—do not stretch the fabric.
- Chest (across): Measure straight across the front about 1 cm (≈½") below the armholes from seam to seam. Multiply that number by 2 to get chest circumference. Example: 24" across = 48" circumference.
- Shoulder width: Measure across the back from shoulder seam to shoulder seam.
- Sleeve length: Measure from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff. (If your size chart uses center-back sleeve length, measure from the base of the neck across the shoulder to the cuff.)
- Front length: Measure from the highest point of the shoulder (where the shoulder seam meets the collar) down to the hem.
- Hem width: Measure across the bottom hem and multiply by 2 for circumference.
- Cuff opening: Measure cuff laid flat and multiply by 2 for wrist allowance.
Measuring your body
- Bust/Chest: Measure around the fullest part of your chest under the arms, keeping the tape level and comfortably snug.
- Waist: Measure around the natural waist (narrowest point).
- Hips: Measure around the fullest part of the hips.
- Arm length: From center back at the base of the neck, over the shoulder to the wrist for sleeve fit.
- Shoulder width: Across the back from one shoulder bone to the other.
Fit guidance: Compare your body measurements to the garment measurements. For a layerable shacket allow about 8–15 cm (3–6") of ease at the chest for thin-to-medium layers; add 3–5 cm (1–2") extra if you intend to wear bulky sweaters underneath. If between sizes, size up for comfortable layering or down for a closer fit.
Materials & construction
Below are common fabric options and what to expect. Always refer to the garment’s label for exact composition.
- Brushed cotton / flannel (often 100% cotton or cotton-rich blends): Soft, warm, breathable, and comfortable. May have slight shrinkage if washed hot—wash cold and reshape.
- Wool or wool-blend (e.g., 50–70% wool with synthetics): Warm and structured; ideal for cooler climates. Often requires gentler care or professional cleaning.
- Polyester / cotton blends (e.g., 65% polyester / 35% cotton): Durable, wrinkle-resistant, and easier to launder; less prone to shrinkage.
- Insulation (when quilted/lined): Synthetic fill (100% polyester) for lightweight warmth and easy care.
- Hardware: Buttons may be metal, corozo (natural), or plastic; zippers typically YKK or equivalent. Reinforced seams and interfacing add structure at shoulders and collar.
Construction details to look for: reinforced shoulder seams, quality button stitching, well-finished hems, and a neat lining where additional warmth or wind resistance is needed.
Model information
Reference used in product imagery:

Care guide — keep it lovely longer
General care tips. Always follow the garment’s care label if instructions differ.
- Machine-washable cotton/poly blends: Turn inside out. Wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colors; use mild detergent. Avoid bleach and long soaking.
- Brushed cotton / flannel: Wash cold or hand wash; tumble dry low or reshape and lay flat to dry to preserve the nap and limit shrinkage.
- Wool or wool-blend: Prefer dry cleaning. If labeled machine-washable, use a wool-safe detergent, cold water, gentle cycle, and dry flat.
- Quilted/insulated lining: Follow label; tumble dry low with a couple of dryer balls to help loft the insulation, or air-dry thoroughly.
- Stain & quick-care: Spot-treat fresh stains promptly with a gentle stain remover; test on an inconspicuous area first.
- Pilling: Remove pills with a fabric shaver or pill comb on low settings.
- Storage: Hang on a broad hanger to keep shape, or fold neatly. For long-term storage use breathable garment bags and avoid damp environments.
- Hardware care: Fasten buttons and zip zippers before washing to reduce strain on closures.
Extra tip: rotate your outerwear to reduce wear and keep each piece looking fresh longer.
Style tips
- Casual: Wear open over a tee or lightweight sweater with straight jeans and sneakers for a relaxed everyday look.
- Layered autumn outfit: Layer over a chunky knit, add slim jeans and ankle boots; finish with a beanie or scarf for texture.
- Smart-casual: Button the shacket, add a belt at the waist, tuck the front into tailored trousers or a midi skirt, and wear loafers or low heels.
- Belted waist: Add a leather belt over the shacket to define silhouette and create a polished shape.
- Work-to-weekend: Use it as a transitional outer layer over a button-down shirt and chinos for a smart but relaxed office look.
- Color & pattern pairing: Neutral shackets (black, camel, olive) pair well with denim and monochrome basics; patterned or plaid shackets are the focal piece—keep other items simple.
- Sizing for styling: For layering bulky knits choose one size up; for a tailored look keep your usual size.
