How to measure

Two common approaches: measuring the garment (most accurate if you have it) or measuring your body (to pick the right size).

Measuring the garment (recommended)

1. Lay the pants flat on a smooth surface with seams aligned and the waistband relaxed.
2. Waist: Measure straight across the top of the waistband from left to right. Double that flat measurement to get the full waist circumference.
3. Hips: Measure across the fullest part of the hips (usually 7–9 inches / 18–23 cm down from the waistband). Double the flat measurement for the hip circumference.
4. Front rise: Measure from the top center of the waistband down to the crotch seam.
5. Inseam: Measure from the crotch seam down the inside leg to the bottom hem.
6. Outseam / Total length: Measure from the top of the waistband to the bottom hem along the outside leg.
7. Thigh: Measure 1 inch (2.5 cm) below the crotch seam across the leg; double for full thigh circumference.
8. Leg opening (hem): Measure straight across the bottom hem and double for circumference.

Tip: Use a soft cloth measuring tape, record both inches and centimeters if helpful, and compare with a pair you already own for the best fit reference.

Measuring your body (to select a size)

1. Waist: Measure around your natural waist (where you normally wear pants). Keep the tape snug but not tight.
2. Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks, with feet together and tape level.
3. Inseam: Measure from crotch to floor while wearing shoes similar to those you will pair with the pants, or measure the inseam of a well-fitting pair of pants.
4. Rise preference: If you prefer high or low rise, compare your body measurements with the garment front rise measurement.

Note: When you have a flat measurement, double it to obtain circumference (waist, hips, thigh, hem).
