How to measure

Use these steps to measure either the garment (recommended for online shopping) or your body so you can choose the best size. Always measure with a soft tape measure, keep the tape parallel to the floor, and measure snugly but not tight.

Measuring the garment (laid flat)

1. Bust / Chest: Lay the dress flat. Measure straight across the front 1" (2.5 cm) below the armholes from seam to seam. Multiply that number by 2 to get the full chest circumference.
2. Waist: Measure across the narrowest part of the dress waist (if there is a defined waist) from seam to seam and multiply by 2.

7. Hem width: Measure across the bottom hem from seam to seam and multiply by 2.

Measuring your body

1. Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your bust with arms relaxed at your sides.
2. Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your natural waist (where your body bends).
3. Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks.
4. Height & length preference: Know your height and where you like dresses to fall (above-knee, mid-thigh, etc.) and compare with the garment front length.

Fit tip: For a comfortable relaxed tee-dress fit, add about 2–4" (5–10 cm) of wearing ease to bust/hip body measurements. To estimate whether a garment will fit: Body measurement + desired ease ≤ Garment measurement (flat measurement × 2). Example: 34" bust + 3" ease = 37" needed; look for a garment flat bust of at least 18.5" (18.5" × 2 = 37").
