How to measure — garment & body

All measurements on the product page are taken with the dress laid flat. For best results use a soft tape measure and a flat, even surface.

• Prepare the dress: Lay it flat, smooth out wrinkles, fasten any zips or buttons and align seams.
• Bust (chest): Measure straight across from one underarm seam to the other (armpit to armpit). Multiply that number by 2 to get the full circumference.
• Waist: Measure across the narrowest ruched seam or natural waistline on the dress. Multiply by 2 for full circumference.
• Hips: Measure across the fullest part of the skirt (typically about 8–10 cm / 3–4 in below the waist). Multiply by 2 for full circumference.
• Shoulder width: Measure from shoulder seam to shoulder seam across the back. If no defined shoulder seam, measure from the high point where the sleeve meets the neckline across to the other side.
• Sleeve length: From the shoulder seam to the sleeve hem. For a set-in shoulder measure from the shoulder seam; for raglan style measure from the center of the neck to the sleeve hem.
• Front length: From the highest point of the shoulder at the neckline (where the shoulder meets the neck) straight down to the hem.
• Hem width / Skirt circumference: Measure across the hem from side to side, then multiply by 2 for the full circumference.
• Notes & tips: Multiply any flat measurement by 2 to get circumference. When comparing to your body measurements allow ease for comfort: 2–4 in (5–10 cm) for a fitted look, 4–8 in (10–20 cm) for a relaxed fit. If in doubt, measure a similar dress you own and compare.
