How to measure

Use these steps to measure either the garment or your body so you can choose the best fit.

Measure the garment (recommended)

1. Lay the pants flat on a smooth surface. Smooth out wrinkles but don't stretch the fabric.
2. Waist: Measure across the top of the waistband from side to side. Multiply this number by two to get the full waist circumference.
3. Hips: Measure across the fullest part of the seat (usually about 6–8" / 15–20 cm below the waistband) from side to side, then double for full circumference.
4. Front rise: Measure from the crotch seam up to the top of the front waistband.
5. Back rise: Measure from the crotch seam up to the top of the back waistband.
6. Inseam: Measure along the inside leg seam from the crotch seam down to the bottom hem.
7. Outseam: Measure from the top of the waistband down the side seam to the hem.
8. Thigh: Measure 1" (2.5 cm) below the crotch seam across the leg; double that number for thigh circumference.
9. Hem / Leg opening: Measure across the bottom hem and double for full circumference.

Measure your body

• Waist: Measure around your natural waistline (narrowest point) while relaxed.
• Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.
• Inseam: Measure from the crotch down to where you want the hem to fall on your leg.
• Compare body measurements to garment measurements. For a roomier wide‑leg drape, choose your usual size or size up; for a neater silhouette, consider sizing down if your measurements allow.
