How to measure

Two quick methods — measure your body (for the fit you want) or measure a shirt you already own that fits well.

• Chest (body): Wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of your chest/upper torso, under the armpits and across the shoulder blades. Keep the tape parallel to the floor. This is the chest circumference.
• Chest (garment): Lay the shirt flat, buttoned. Measure straight across the chest 1"–2" (2.5–5 cm) below the armholes from seam to seam, then double that number to get the full circumference.
• Shoulder: Lay the shirt flat on its back and measure from one shoulder seam to the other (seam-to-seam across the top of the back).
• Length: Measure from the highest point of the shoulder (next to the collar seam) straight down to the hem.
• Sleeve length (short sleeve shirt): Measure from the shoulder seam to the end of the sleeve.
• Hem / Bottom width: With the shirt flat, measure across the bottom hem seam-to-seam and double for circumference.

Tip: If you’re between sizes or want a roomier beach feel, choose the larger size. 1 inch = 2.54 cm.
