How to measure

Two ways to measure: measure an existing garment laid flat (most accurate for fit), or measure your body and compare to the garment measurements.

Measure a garment (laid flat)

1. Lay the T‑shirt flat on a smooth surface and smooth out wrinkles without stretching the fabric.
2. Chest (body width): measure straight across 1 cm–2.5 cm (about ½"–1") below the armholes, seam to seam. Double that number to get chest circumference.
3. Shoulder width: measure from shoulder seam to shoulder seam across the back.
4. Body length: measure from the highest point of the shoulder (next to the collar seam) straight down to the bottom hem.
5. Sleeve length: measure from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff. For raglan sleeves, measure from the center back (base of neck) to the cuff and note the method used.
6. Bicep width: measure across the sleeve about 5 cm (2") below the armhole seam, seam to seam, then double for circumference.
7. Cuff/hem width: measure straight across the cuff or hem and double for circumference.

Measure your body (to select size)

1. Chest: wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of your chest, under the arms and across the shoulder blades. Keep the tape parallel to the floor and comfortable (not tight).
2. Shoulder: measure between the two shoulder bone points across the back.
3. Arm length: from the shoulder point to the wrist with the arm slightly bent.
4. Compare your body measurements to the garment measurements and allow ease depending on desired fit (see recommendation below).

Quick conversion: 1 in = 2.54 cm.
