How to measure

To find the best fit, measure either your body or a similar pair of shorts that fits the way you want these to fit. Use a soft tape measure, stand relaxed, and keep the tape parallel to the floor.

Body measurements (wear underwear or a thin layer)

1. Waist — Measure around your natural waist or where you normally wear the shorts (not too tight). Record the circumference.
2. Hips — Measure around the fullest part of your hips/buttocks with feet together.
3. Inseam — From the crotch seam (where the legs meet) down the inside leg to the hem.
4. Outseam — From the top of the waistband down the side seam to the hem (shows total length).
5. Front rise — From the crotch seam up to the top of the front waistband.
6. Thigh — Measure around the fullest part of your thigh (about 1" / 2.5 cm below the crotch).
7. Leg opening — Measure around the hem of one leg.
8. Side slit length — Measure from the hem upward along the slit to the top of the opening.

Garment (flat) measurements

1. Lay the shorts flat on a smooth surface and smooth out wrinkles. Zip and button.
2. Waist (flat) — Measure straight across the top from left to right and multiply by 2.
3. Hips (flat) — Measure across about 1" (2.5 cm) below the crotch seam and multiply by 2.
4. Inseam — Measure from the crotch seam to the hem along the inside leg.
5. Outseam — Measure from the top of the waistband to the hem along the side seam.
6. Front/Back rise — Measure from the crotch seam to the top of the front/back waistband.
7. Thigh (flat) — Measure across the leg about 1" (2.5 cm) below the crotch and multiply by 2.
8. Slit length — Measure along the slit from the hem upward.

Tips: If you prefer a roomier fit allow 1–2" (2.5–5 cm) of ease in waist/hip. Use inches or cm consistently (1 in = 2.54 cm).

Materials

These shorts are commonly made from one of the following fabrics or blends. Check the product label for exact composition.

• 100% Cotton — Soft, breathable, comfortable for everyday wear; may shrink slightly after washing. Best with cold wash and low heat drying or line dry.
• Cotton blends (cotton + elastane/spandex) — Adds stretch and recovery for more movement and a better fit. Typical blends: 95–98% cotton + 2–5% elastane.
• Polyester / Performance blends — Durable, quick-drying, and wrinkle-resistant. Often used for active or travel shorts.
• Linen or linen blends — Lightweight and breathable with natural texture; wrinkles more easily but stays cool in warm weather.
• Modal / Tencel (Lyocell) — Very soft with a nice drape, comfortable against skin; usually requires gentle washing.
• Trims — Waistbands may include elastic or drawcords; zippers/buttons are metal or plastic; side-slit edges may be reinforced with bartacks or stitching.

Example label you might see: “60% Cotton / 35% Polyester / 5% Elastane.” Always follow label care instructions for best results.

Model information

We photograph our garments on models to show fit. Model details normally provided are:

• Height (e.g., 6'0" / 183 cm)
• Waist & hip measurements (e.g., waist 38" / 96.5 cm; hips 46" / 117 cm)
• Size worn in the photos (e.g., wearing 2X)
• Fit shown — whether the product looks slim, true-to-size, or relaxed (example: relaxed fit with ~1–2" ease at waist).

Example (use as a guide): Model is 6'0" (183 cm) with a 38" waist and 46" hips, wearing size 2X in the product images. If you are between sizes, choose the size matching your largest measurement or size up for extra comfort.

Care Guide (to keep it lovely longer)

Follow these steps to preserve color, shape and fabric performance.

• Before washing: Close zippers and fasten buttons to avoid snagging. Turn shorts inside out to protect color and trims.
• Washing: Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colors. Use a mild detergent. Avoid bleach or harsh stain removers unless the label permits them.

Extra tips: Use a laundry bag for delicate trims, wash dark/lighter colors separately for the first few washes, and avoid fabric softener on moisture-wicking fabrics.
