How to measure
Measure yourself wearing light underwear or a thin layer. Keep the tape level and snug but not tight. Record measurements in cm or inches — 1 in = 2.54 cm. If possible have a friend help for more accurate results.
1) Measure your body
- Chest: Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, under the arms and across the shoulder blades. Breathe normally while measuring.
- Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your torso (usually above the belly button).
- Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks with feet together.
- Torso length (important for bodysuits): From the highest point of your shoulder (where the shoulder meets the neck) measure down the front, passing over the fullest part of the chest, to the point where you expect the bodysuit crotch snap to sit.
- Shoulder width: Measure across the back from one shoulder bone to the other.
- Sleeve length: From the shoulder seam (or highest shoulder point) down to the wrist with a slightly bent elbow.
2) Measure the garment (laid flat)
When you receive the item or to check a sample piece, lay it flat on a table and measure straight across; multiply flat measurements by 2 to get circumferences:
- Pit-to-pit (bust): Measure across the chest from underarm seam to underarm seam — x2 = chest circumference.
- Waist (flat): Measure across the narrowest part of the bodysuit — x2 = waist circumference.
- Hip (flat): Measure across the fullest seat area — x2 = hip circumference.
- Shoulder width (flat): From seam to seam across the back.
- Sleeve length: From shoulder seam to cuff along the outer arm.
