How to measure

Measure your body (to choose the right size)

1. Chest: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, under the armpits and across the shoulder blades. Keep the tape measure level and relaxed.
2. Waist: Measure around the natural waistline (where you normally wear your pants), keeping the tape comfortably snug.
3. Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips with your feet together.
4. Sleeve length: With your arm relaxed at your side, measure from the center back of your neck (base) across the shoulder to the wrist bone — or measure from the shoulder seam to the wrist for garment comparison.
5. Body length: Measure from the high point of the shoulder (next to the base of the neck) straight down to where you want the hem to sit.
6. Use a soft tape measure; stand relaxed and breathe normally while measuring. Convert: 1 inch = 2.54 cm.

Measure the garment (to check fit)

1. Lay the sweatshirt flat on a smooth surface and smooth out wrinkles (do not stretch).
2. Pit-to-pit (chest): Measure straight across from one armpit seam to the other. Multiply that number by 2 to get the chest circumference.
3. Shoulder: Measure seam-to-seam across the back at the top of the shoulders.
4. Length: Measure from the center back neck point (high point) straight down to the hem.
5. Sleeve: Measure from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff. If no shoulder seam, measure from center back neck to cuff and subtract the high-point-to-shoulder distance.
6. Compare garment measurements with your body measurements and allow for ease: typical casual sweatshirts have ~2–5 cm (approximately 1–2 in) of ease across the chest for comfortable layering.
