How to measure

Use a soft measuring tape and measure either your body or a well-fitting pair of pants. Record measurements in centimetres (cm) or inches (in). Measure with the tape snug but not tight.

Measuring your body

• High waist — Measure around the point where you want the waistband to sit (typically above the belly button for high-waist styles). Keep the tape level and parallel to the floor.

Measuring the garment (recommended for accuracy)

• Lay the pants flat on a smooth surface and smooth out wrinkles before measuring.
• Waist (flat) — Measure across the top of the waistband from left to right, then double that value for the full circumference.
• Hips (flat) — Measure across the pants approximately 20 cm / 8" below the waistband and double it.
• Inseam — Measure from the crotch seam to the bottom hem along the inner seam.
• Outseam / Total length — Measure from the top of the waistband to the hem along the outside seam.
• Front & back rise — Measure from top of waistband to crotch seam on the corresponding side.
• Allow 1–3 cm (½–1¼") additional ease in measurements depending on desired fit (snug vs relaxed).
