How to Measure

Use a soft tape measure or a piece of string and a ruler. Record measurements in centimeters or inches.

• Overall length: Lay the necklace flat and measure from the tip of the clasp to the last ring. If there is an extender, note both the minimum and maximum lengths.
• Pearl diameter: Measure across the widest part of a pearl (in mm). Natural variation of around ±0.5 mm is normal for freshwater pearls.

• No tape measure? Wrap a string at your desired drape, cut or pinch where it meets, then measure the string with a ruler.

Length guide (approximate on most necks): 14 in/35 cm = high choker; 16 in/40 cm = base of neck; 18 in/45 cm = just below collarbone; 20–22 in/50–55 cm = upper chest; 24 in+/60 cm+ = mid-chest.
