How to measure

Use a flexible cloth tape measure. Work on a flat, even surface and record measurements in inches or centimeters (1 in = 2.54 cm). For garments, measure them laid flat and multiply width measurements by 2 to get circumferences.

Measuring your body

1. Natural waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your torso where you want the high waist to sit. Keep the tape snug but not tight.
2. Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat with feet together.
