How to measure

Measuring the garment (product)

• Waist (flat): Measure across the top edge of the waistband from left to right. To get the waist circumference, multiply by 2. For elastic/adjustable waist, record both relaxed and fully stretched measurements.
• Hip: Measure across the widest part of the hips (usually about 8–10 cm / 3–4" below the crotch seam). Multiply by 2 for full hip circumference.
• Front rise: Measure from the top of the front waistband straight down to the crotch seam.
• Back rise: Measure from the top of the back waistband straight down to the crotch seam.
• Inseam: Measure from the crotch seam down the inside leg to the bottom hem.
• Thigh: Measure across the leg 2.5–5 cm (1–2") below the crotch seam. Multiply by 2 for circumference.
• Knee: Measure across the leg at the knee point. Multiply by 2 for circumference.
• Bottom opening / Hem: Because these pants have an adjustable bottom opening, measure across the hem when the opening is closed (flat) and again when fully opened. Multiply each flat measurement by 2 for circumference to show the range.
• Total length: Measure from the top of the waistband to the outer bottom hem (outside leg).

Tip: write both the relaxed and stretched values for elastic parts so customers understand the range.

Measuring your body

• Waist: Measure around your natural waist (the narrowest point), keeping the tape comfortably snug but not tight.
• Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.
• Inseam: Stand barefoot and measure from the crotch to the floor along the inside leg, or measure a pair of well-fitting pants from crotch seam to hem.
• Rise reference: If you have a favorite pair of pants, measure the front rise to compare to the garment measurements above.

Fit guidance: compare your body measurements to the garment measurements. Allow 2–4 cm (1–2") ease for a fitted look, 5–15 cm (2–6") for a relaxed/roomy fit depending on the desired silhouette.
