How to Measure
For the most accurate sizing, lay a similar sweater flat on a table and measure. Compare to our garment measurements if provided. Double width measurements to get the full circumference.
- Chest/Bust (pit-to-pit): Measure straight across from one underarm seam to the other. Double for circumference.
- Shoulder Width: Measure from the tip of one shoulder seam to the other. For dropped or raglan shoulders, measure the seam-to-seam distance where it meets the sleeve or estimate across the upper back.
- Sleeve Length: From the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff. For raglan or dropped shoulders, measure from the neckline seam at center back to cuff (CB-to-cuff).
- Body Length: From the highest point of the shoulder (where the shoulder seam meets the neckline) straight down to the hem. You can also measure back length from the center back neckline to hem.
- Hem Width: Measure straight across the bottom hem. Double for circumference.
- Cuff Opening: Measure straight across the cuff edge. Double for circumference.
- Neck Opening: Measure the inner edge of the round neck seam across, or follow the curve with a tape if needed.
Size selection tip: Compare your body chest measurement to the garment chest. For a classic fit, allow 8–12 cm ease; for a relaxed/slouchy fit, allow 12–20 cm ease. Cable knits can draw in and may relax 1–3 cm with wear. Tolerance: ±1–2 cm due to knit construction.
Materials & What to Expect
Exact composition can vary by color or batch. Please check the product label or the composition listed above on this page. The following guidance covers the most common fibers used in cable-knit, buttoned round-neck sweaters:
- Cotton (100% or blends): Soft, breathable, easy-care. Holds stitch definition well for cables. Minimal itch. Best for transitional weather. May stretch slightly; reshape while drying.
- Wool (Merino/Lambswool): Warmth with breathability and natural elasticity. Excellent cable texture and recovery. Can pill with abrasion; respond well to gentle de-pilling. Use wool-safe detergent.
- Cashmere (or Cashmere blends): Very soft, lightweight warmth with a plush handfeel. More delicate; handle gently, expect some initial pilling that reduces after a few wears and de-pills.
- Acrylic (or Acrylic blends): Lightweight, soft, and easy-care. Good color retention and affordability. Lower moisture management than natural fibers; watch for static and pilling over time.
- Polyamide/Nylon: Often blended for durability and to help the sweater keep its shape. Improves resilience of cuffs and hem.
- Elastane/Spandex: A small percentage can add stretch and help the sweater maintain its fit.
- Buttons: Commonly resin/plastic for durability; may also be wood, shell, or horn. Avoid prolonged soaking of natural buttons and keep high heat away.
Feel & weight: Cable-knit textures add loft and warmth. Heavier yarns feel cozier and more structured; finer yarns drape more and layer easily.
Model & Fit Notes
This round-neck cable-knit is designed for a classic, slightly relaxed silhouette that layers comfortably over a tee or light shirt.
- Typical on-model look: shoulder seams align near the shoulder point, easy through the body with room for movement, hem hitting around the high-hip to hip.
- Fit advice: choose your usual size for a clean classic fit; size up for a slouchier, more oversized vibe; size down for a neater silhouette.
- Ease: knit structure provides natural give; cables add texture and warmth without feeling bulky when properly sized.
- If model details are shown on this page (height and wearing size), use them to gauge length and sleeve coverage relative to your own height.
Care Guide (to keep it lovely longer)
- Always follow the care label first. Turn the sweater inside out and fasten buttons before washing.
- Washing:
- Wool/Cashmere: Hand wash cold with wool-safe detergent. Do not wring; gently press out water.
- Cotton/Acrylic: Machine wash cold on gentle in a mesh bag, or hand wash. Mild detergent only.
- Avoid bleach and fabric softener, especially on wool blends.
- Drying: Lay flat on a clean towel, reshape cables and edges, and dry away from direct heat or sun. Never tumble dry. Do not hang when wet.
- De-pilling: Use a sweater comb or fabric shaver lightly on the surface. Remove pills regularly to keep the knit looking fresh.
- Iron/Steam: Steam on low from the inside to relax creases. If ironing, use low heat with a pressing cloth. Keep heat away from buttons.
- Storage: Fold rather than hang to prevent stretching. Store clean, buttoned, and flat. Use cedar blocks or lavender sachets to deter moths for wool/cashmere.
- Between wears: Let the sweater rest 24 hours, especially for wool, to recover its shape.
- Spot care: Blot spills promptly with a clean cloth; avoid rubbing which can fuzz the yarn and disturb cable texture.
Style Tips
- Everyday classic: Pair with straight-leg denim and ankle boots. Leave the top button open for ease at the neckline.
- Layered polish: Add a crisp collared shirt underneath so the collar and cuffs peek out; finish with loafers or brogues.
- Office ready: Tuck into tailored trousers or a midi skirt. Minimal jewelry complements the round neck.
- Weekend cozy: Wear over a soft tee with joggers or leggings and clean sneakers.
- Cold-weather stack: Layer under a long coat; add a textured scarf to play off the cables.
- Color play: Neutrals pair with indigo, camel, and charcoal. Bright or pastel knits shine against muted bottoms.
- Buttoned details: Fully button for a neat crew-neck look; unfasten the top 1–2 buttons for a relaxed neckline and to accommodate layered collars.
- Texture mix: Balance chunky cables with smoother fabrics (silk skirt, twill trousers) for contrast.
