How to measure (garment and body)

Use a soft measuring tape. For garment measurements, lay the pants flat on a smooth surface, smooth out wrinkles (do not stretch), and measure as instructed below. Multiply any flat measurement across by 2 to get circumference.

Garment (flat) measurements — what to record

1. Waist (flat): Measure straight across the top edge of the waistband. Multiply by 2 for waist circumference. For elastic waists, record both relaxed and fully stretched measurements.
2. Hips: Measure straight across the fullest part of the seat (about 1"–2" / 2–5 cm below crotch seam). Multiply by 2.
3. Front rise: From the crotch seam to the top center of the front waistband.
4. Back rise: From the crotch seam to the top center of the back waistband.
5. Inseam: From the crotch seam down the inside leg to the hem.
6. Outseam (total length): From the top of the waistband to the hem along the outside leg.
7. Thigh: Measure straight across 1" / 2–3 cm below the crotch seam; multiply by 2.
8. Hem / Leg opening: Measure straight across the bottom of the leg; multiply by 2.
