How to measure this jacket
Measure the jacket laid flat on a table with a soft tape measure. Do not stretch the fabric. After taking a flat measurement, double it where noted to get the full circumference. For convenience we include both the method and the exact points to measure.
- Chest / Bust (flat across) — Button or zip the jacket closed. Measure straight across the front from one side seam to the other at the armpit level (just below the armhole). Multiply this number by 2 to get the full chest/bust circumference.
- Shoulder width — Measure from one shoulder seam to the other across the back (seam-to-seam).
- Sleeve length — From the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff. For raglan or set-in sleeves measure from the shoulder seam; if the jacket has no defined shoulder seam, measure from the center back of the neck to the cuff.
- Jacket length — Measure from the center back at the base of the collar (where the collar meets the body) straight down to the hem.
- Hem / Bottom width — Measure straight across the bottom hem from side to side and multiply by 2 for the hem circumference.
- Bicep width — Measure across the sleeve about 5 cm / 2" below the armhole seam and multiply by 2 to get the full bicep circumference.
- Waist (across) — Measure across the jacket at the natural waistline (if defined) and double the number to get the circumference.
