How to measure this coat

For accurate sizing, lay the coat flat on a smooth surface. Smooth out wrinkles but do not stretch the fabric. Use a soft measuring tape and record measurements in cm or inches. The measurements below describe how to take the most commonly requested garment dimensions.

Chest / Bust
Measure straight across the coat 2.5 cm (1") below the armholes from one side seam to the other. Double that number to get the full circumference.
Shoulder width
Measure across the back from shoulder seam to shoulder seam. For dropped or raglan shoulders, measure from the outer edge where the sleeve meets the body on one side to the other.
Sleeve length
Measure from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff. For raglan sleeves, measure from the center back of the neck to the cuff.
Back length
Measure from the centre back of the neck (where the collar meets the body) straight down to the hem.
Front length
Measure from the highest point of the shoulder (next to the neckline) down the front to the hem.
Hem width
Measure straight across the bottom hem from side seam to side seam and double that number for the full circumference.
Cuff / Sleeve opening
Measure across the cuff edge seam-to-seam and double for the circumference.

Tip: If you have a similar coat that fits well, measure that garment and compare. Allow a tolerance of about 1–3 cm (0.5–1") for knit fabrics that may relax or stretch.

Materials

This style is commonly constructed from a soft midweight knit blend designed for a smooth drape and easy care. Typical components for this sort of longline open-front coat include:

  • Body fabric: polyester/viscose or acrylic/polyester blend (brushed or smooth knit for a soft hand)
  • Lining (if present): 100% polyester for smooth movement and shape retention
  • Trims: plastic or metal snaps/buttons and polyester thread

What that means: polyester and acrylic add durability, resistance to wrinkles and easy washing; viscose adds softness and a nicer drape. Always check the sewn care label or the product page for exact fibre percentages and any special components before laundering.

Model information

Product photos are provided for fit reference. The imagery typically shows a model of average retail height; where available we list the model’s height and the size they are wearing in the image captions. As a general guide, the model shown in product images is approximately 175 cm (5'9") wearing a size S. Use the size guide and the measuring instructions above to select your best fit—if you plan to layer bulky sweaters underneath, consider sizing up.

Care guide — to keep it lovely longer

  • Washing: Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle or hand wash. Use a mild detergent and turn the coat inside out before washing.
  • Drying: Lay flat to dry on a towel or drying rack and reshape while damp. Avoid tumble-drying to prevent shrinkage or loss of shape.
  • Ironing / Steaming: If required, steam on low or iron on the lowest safe setting with a pressing cloth between the iron and the fabric. Do not expose synthetic blends to high heat.
  • Dry cleaning: If the care label specifies dry clean only (or for coats with structured tailoring or delicate trims), follow professional dry-clean instructions.
  • Spot cleaning: Treat spills promptly with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Blot gently—don’t rub—to avoid pilling or stretching.
  • Pilling: Use a fabric comb or pill shaver gently to remove pills, especially in areas of friction (under arms, sides where bags sit).
  • Storage: For long-term storage fold the coat to avoid shoulder distortion; if hanging, use a broad, padded hanger and store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • General tips: Avoid contact with rough surfaces to prevent snags; let perfumes and deodorants dry completely before wearing to avoid stains.

Style tips

  • Casual: Throw over a fitted tee or thin sweater with slim jeans and sneakers for an easy everyday look.
  • Work-ready: Layer over a blouse and tailored trousers or a pencil skirt; finish with loafers or ankle boots for a polished silhouette.
  • Evening: Wear over a slip dress or a fitted knit dress; add a slim belt to define the waist and heels to elevate the outfit.
  • Balance proportions: Since this is a longline coat, pair it with slim or tapered bottoms (skinny jeans, leggings, cigarette trousers) to keep proportions flattering.
  • Accessories: Long necklaces, scarves and structured bags complement the longline shape—use a mid-width belt if you want to create a more defined waist.
  • Colour pairing: Neutral tones (black, navy, camel, gray) are versatile; add a pop of colour with a scarf, bag or shoes for contrast.
  • Seasonal use: Ideal as a transitional piece—layer lighter pieces underneath for spring and autumn, or add thin insulating layers for cooler weather instead of bulky knits.
